Hello all-- my name is Brian Kochheiser, I am a junior pursing a degree in sport management and a minor in general business. I am from Okemos, MI which is next door to Michigan State University, so I have been fortunate to be able to attend collegiate and professional sporting events my entire life. My love and passion for sports and business are what led me to Bowling Green State University's sport management program. It is a dream of mine to one day become a Director of Athletics at a university.
Competing in sports has been something that I've done all my life. Throughout my childhood, I tried and played nearly every sport, but I found my niche with hockey and golf. I played hockey for about 11 years, including four years on my high school team. When I look back on high school, my favorite memories come from playing hockey with some of my best friends. Hockey was always a sport that I loved to play because it is played at such a fast pace, and there is constant action on the ice. Since I've come to Bowling Green, I have had the opportunity to compete in various intramural sports with my fraternity brothers. I have also enjoyed playing golf with friends and family over the past few summers, and golf is a sport that I plan to play for the rest of my life.
If I had the opportunity to see any female athlete compete, I would definitely choose Alex Morgan. She is arguably the face of US Women's Soccer and she is an incredible competitor. It would be a treat to watch her perform at the 2015 Women's World Cup in Canada. I have been fortunate enough to see some of my favorite athletes perform live, such as, Steve Yzerman, Miguel Cabrera, Calvin Johnson, Pavel Datsyuk, Nick Lidstrom, and LeBron James. However, I would love to witness Tiger Woods play golf in his prime. He was such a dominant golfer, and he will go down as one of the best athletes to ever play golf. What he's done to boost the popularity of golf has been incredible.
I am looking forward to a great semester in this class, and I hope to learn a lot of valuable concepts that I can apply to the work world. As with every class I take, my goal is to finish out the semester with an A in this course!
I completely agree with you about watching Alex Morgan play. She is an incredible athlete and I love to watch international soccer. Going to the women's World Cup too.

I agree with you wanting to watch Tiger Woods. I think he still is in his prime but he is just on the bottom slope of it. I think he will be out of his prime in the next four years. He still is ranked number 1 in the world despite him not winning a major this year.

Brian,
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of your choices for athletes. Alex Morgan is in the prime of her career right now and will hopefully lead the U.S. Womens Soccer team to even more success. Tiger Woods is an incredible Athlete who can still play, but I do not know if he will break the record for most Majors won. Hopefully he can get become a dominant golfer again. That would be great for the game of golf and help repair his image.
