Introduction to Billy Nowak

Hello Everyone! My name is Billy Nowak and was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI. From Bowling Green, Grand Rapids is about a 3 hour drive away and about an hour west of Lansing, MI. Growing up, I loved sports. I played in the backyard as well as on organized teams. From the age of three, I began playing baseball and slowly picked up basketball and football as well. I continued to play all three of these sports through grade school and into high school. I attended Grand Rapids West Catholic playing Football, Basketball and Baseball all four years. I was named the Top-Male Athlete of my graduating class. I am still currently playing club baseball here at BGSU. I am currently a senior and hold the role of President for the team. This is my last season playing organized baseball so we will see how things play out. Playing sports and watching sports are two different ways to enjoy the competition of sport. If I could watch any female athlete, it would be Serena Williams. The way she plays and dominates the sport she plays just amazed me. If the opportunity ever arose for me to witness her playing, I would definitely make sure to see her play. The male athlete I would pay to see would be Richie McCaw of the New Zealand All-Blacks. On the sheet, I first stated I would want to see Miguel Cabrera play but recently just watched him play in person. So, I changed it to Richie McCaw the captain of the New Zealand All-Blacks Rugby team. Being captain of one of the world's most dominate team of all time must mean you have great leadership qualities both on and off the field. This would be a reason I would want to see him play is for those traits and that the All-Blacks are very good at rugby. With school, work and baseball I will have to make sure I manage my time effectively and produce quality work for not only this class but all of them.
